X-Wood® — this is how halls should be
Assembled timber structure of an X-Wood® hall on site

The X-Wood® System

One building system. Three routes to your hall.

Structure, engineering and cutting are the same in every X-Wood® hall. All that changes is how much you hand over — and that is exactly what you decide here.

Not three products.
Three scopes of one system.

Discuss your project

Anyone comparing timber halls usually compares suppliers. At X-Wood® you compare something else: you decide how much of your project sits in our hands. The building itself stays the same in all three cases — the same structural design, the same components from our own plant, the same spans.

That sounds obvious, but it is not. It means that switching routes costs you nothing in quality, only in effort — your own. And it means the decision is not a matter of principle: anyone who realises along the way that they would rather hand over the assembly changes column, not partner.

The three routes

How much would you like
to take on yourself?

From a hall handed over ready for use to a kit your own team assembles.

The standard case, not the contract: who does what is set out in your quote. Individual items can be shifted.

Do you recognise your case in more than one column? Then let us work out together where the line sensibly falls in your project.

What all three routes share

The same engineering. The same components.
The same hall in the end.

Constant

Four things that are not up for choice.

What you hand over is your decision. What the building can do is decided by the system — and that is the same in every column.

The same structure

X-purlins or trussed beams, depending on span and roof load — never on the scope you booked.

The same design

Engineering and detailing are produced in house, even when you assemble the hall yourself afterwards.

The same production

Every component is cut at X-Cam® in Kall, kiln-dried and machined to the millimetre.

The same extendability

The grid runs in bays. Anyone extending in five years connects to the same structure.

The route to a decision

Four steps and you know
which column is yours.

You do not have to commit up front. The choice of route emerges along the way — and it comes more easily once it is clear what the hall has to do.

  1. Enquiry

You describe your project: use, approximate dimensions, location, timescale. Which of the three routes it will be may still be open at this point.

  2. Conversation

We go through the points where the routes differ — foundations, assembly, fit-out. More often than not, the column that suits your business shows itself right there.

  3. Ballpark price

You receive a first figure for your budget before any costs arise for you. On request for more than one route, so you can see the difference in euros.

  4. Decision and quote

Only now do you commit. The detailed quote lists every item separately and records which service sits with whom.

The first step is a conversation, not a contract. Tell us what the hall has to hold — we will find the right column together.

Discuss your project

The foundation

What all three routes build on.

Two things X-Wood® does itself in every case — and they are the reason the choice of route changes nothing about the hall.

The structures

X-purlins and trussed beams.

Two systems developed in house for the same job: a hall with no columns in the way. As a three-pin frame, the X-purlins span up to 25 metres clear depending on snow load; trussed beams go further and carry overhead cranes and high roof loads.

Which system your hall gets is decided by span and use — not by the scope of service you choose.

The production

Cut in our own plant.

The components of every X-Wood® hall are made at X-Cam® in Kall, on one of the most capable cutting lines in Germany: kiln-dried, machined to the millimetre, delivered in assembly sequence.

That is why even a kit is not a delivery of materials. What is made precisely in the plant goes up quickly on site — whoever's team is standing there.

Our own manufacturing

No middleman between the design and the component.

An eye for detail is not promised here, it is lived.

Perfectionist work and an eye for detail are not just promised in conversation — they are lived throughout the entire build. The way the assembly ran was impressive! The X-Wood® team worked systematically, precisely and always in good spirits. We are very glad we chose X-Wood®. From planning to handover, you are in very good hands here!

The highest quality, always to our complete satisfaction.

The detail solutions and the execution of the connections in particular are exemplary. The outstanding work of the crew deserves a mention too: the team were always extremely friendly, helpful and patient with our questions. It was a pleasure to watch them work — and you had the impression that the crew enjoyed it just as much.

Your assembly team: fast, professional, unruffled.

The very first contact was pleasant and highly convincing. The planning phase was professional throughout, and you moved our project forward under considerable time pressure. Watching our hall go up was a real pleasure. On top of that, your people are, without exception, socially skilled. We have nothing to criticise and will recommend you at every opportunity.

It was the best decision we could have made.

X-Wood® was recommended to us by people we know in the region who had built with X-Wood® themselves. It mattered to us that we could take on many parts of the build ourselves. Deadlines were kept to the day, there was always an open ear and good advice whenever we had questions. Working alongside the other trades went smoothly too. We always dealt with friendly people and can only recommend this company.

There are no problems, only solutions. One phone call is all it takes.

Everything from planning to completion was excellent. High praise and many thanks to the entire X-Wood® team. Reliability, competent advice, quality and customer satisfaction come first here.

Our wishes were taken on board from the very start.

Right from the planning phase, Mr Schumacher always made the effort to carry the architect's and the client's wishes into the drawings and the structure. The rest of the build and the support that came with it were equally satisfying. Even during construction, contact and consultation were maintained throughout, which I personally consider very important. All in all, I can only recommend working with X-Wood®.

Frequently asked

The system — answered briefly.

The X-Wood® System is the way of building behind every X-Wood® hall: a glulam structure — X-purlins or trussed beams — designed and engineered in house and cut at the X-Cam® plant in Kall. Three levels of service build on it: have it built, build turnkey and build it yourself. The building is the same in all three cases; all that differs is which steps X-Wood® takes on.
